Artist John William Waterhouse

John William Waterhouse is one of my favorite artists. There is just something about his art that I find particularly wonderful. Here are a few of his pieces.

Book Review: The Mark of Athena

Title: The Mark of Athena
Author: Rick Riordan
Rating: 4/5
Book Series: The Heroes of Olympus
Other Books: The Lost Hero, & The Son of Neptune
Percy and Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titan's Cures, The Battle of the Labyrinth, & The Last Olympian.

Finally there was a little resolution in the series with this book. I truly love the vibrant characters. The humor of the series. There are many different conflicts going on that add to the complexity of the story.

I truly enjoy multiple character perspectives however this was a little much. Three different characters was good, but 4 was a littler to much. One thing that I wish Riordan could do was a little more food for thought in these books. While they have a few interesting details( I find the names of the two camps to be interesting reflections of the differences between Rome and Greece) there is a lack of thought provoking material. I think he could really do some truly interesting themes with his stories but does not take advantage of them.

Do not think that I am no longer a Rick Riordan fan. I am. I would just like to  say that I find his books much better for interesting-story-but-doesn't-make-me-think kind of read. We all have those purely fun books for when we want something good, but not deep. :)

We are eagerly awaiting House of Hades release.

HP Humor

If you have read Harry Potter I am sure you will find these just as amusing as I did. :) 

Ariel is a Weasley! 

I will admit that the spelling in this one bothered me, but I think it is one of my favorites. 

Oh Draco, 

Hagrid was transfigured. 

I am impressed by this cats balance. 

I realize there is a cat trend here but cats are really just perfect to take pictures of. 

The only problem is that it doesn't have the right markings. 

And of course grumpy cat.

What I read: March

I am sorry about not posting well pretty much not at all. School has just been taking so much of my time I am  just don't have time for anything else. Also just all the stress. I really don't want more stress of putting together blog posts that actually make sense. I mean I love blogging it have been great for me to have a place that I feel free(mostly) to express myself. It just that it takes work to put together coherent post for my readers. Like right now I am having to do way more thinking about this. So until further notice I am just disappearing for a littler. I will try and keep up with my reading challenge posts though. 

Anyway. I really did not get much reading done in march at all. I feel kind of depressed when I look at how much I read in March.
