Half up Hair do basic

I come from a family with 4 girls. I have not brothers. Now in a family with as many girls as mine the subject of hair, and what to do with it, comes up frequently. So many times my sisters and I wonder what to do with our hair, we get tired of doing the same thing over and over again. I am sure all girls out there can relate to that. I always like to try knew hair ideas, and I would love to share some of my new and old hair dos with you. :)

So what I would like to do is post more about hair dos, just hair stuff in general. It will either be a tutorial of my own, or something I found on youtube, or any other thing. Youtube is such a wonderful thing for finding new hair ideas.

Another thing to not it that I don't like to use the curling iron. reason 1) My hair is so thick it takes FOREVER to curl so I tend to use no heat curling methods. 2) The curling iron that we currently own it really not that great. 3) I like to keep my hair healthy so I avoid using heat as much as possible. I do some time use, like to straiten my bang sometime( use the curling iron to do that as I don't have a straitened). But as I don't use heat that much, the hair style that I will post here will use no heat, or very little.

For my first I would like to show the half up. Most of you already know this style, and it is one I use a lot. But it is really quite lovely, and I think feminine looking. I also think it make my hair look longer than it actually is.

Here is the front. I recently cut my side bangs. I have decided that I really like them. :) I also have a dark color around my eyes in this picture. I don't know why that is. ???
Here is the back. I like to use this plain barrette that I borrow a lot from my mother. I do have some prettier ones to use. A nice clip and make this very elegant looking.

What do think of my idea for hair do posts? Yes, no, not really interesting?

My latest obsession

So if you know me, I go through these little obsessions. They vary and are of a lot of different things, like crafts, movies, TV shows, books, historical characters or time periods, completely fictional characters, and music. So my latest music obsession is Boyce Avenue.

I sort of knew they existed, but had not looked to closely. Now I wish I had. I have fallen in love with their covers of songs I liked, and songs I didn't really like(but that I now like their covers of). How did I not know about them sooner?

Anyway the above one is is one of my favorites, it is the one that got me started. I liked Katy Perry's original, but there were parts I didn't like. This one is sweeter, and it has the piano. Which I completely feel in love with. :)

That is all for now.

Book Review: The Red Pyramid

Title: The Red Pyramid
Author: Rick Riordan
Summary: Since their mother’s death, Carter and Sadie have become near strangers. While Sadie has lived with her grandparents in London, her brother has traveled the world with their father, the brilliant Egyptologist, Dr. Julius Kane.               One night, Dr. Kane brings the siblings together for a "research experiment" at the British Museum, where he hopes to set things right for his family. Instead, he unleashes the Egyptian god Set, who banishes him to oblivion and forces the children to flee for their lives.          Soon, Sadie and Carter discover that the gods of Egypt are waking, and the worst of them--Set--has his sights on the Kanes. To stop him, the siblings embark on a dangerous journey across the globe--a quest that brings them ever closer to the truth about their family, and their links to a secret order that has existed since the time of the pharaohs.
(From the Back of the book)

Having read The Lightning Thief, and other Percy Jackson books. I was very interested in his Egyptian mythology books. So far so good. I really enjoyed having two main characters, that take turns telling the story. Also how the story is told is quite creative. The jumping back and forth between Sadie and Carter, and how it was like a recording was very creative.

The characters were not some of my favorites. It was not that they were bad or anything, I just didn't like them as much as others. However it still made me laugh out loud. I would definitely recommend this book to Percy Jackson fans.

Also something that I was really tickled about was a small reference to his other series, Percy Jackson and The Olympians. It brought a smile to my face. :)

For Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love

The Divine Images
By William Blake

To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
All pray in their distress;
And to these virtues of delight
Return their thankfulness.

For Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Is God, our father dear,
And Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Is Man, his child and care.

For Mercy has a human heart,
Pity a human face,
And Love, the human form divine,
And Peace, the human dress.

Then every man, of every clime,
That prays in his distress,
Prays to the human form divine,
Love, Mercy, Pity, Peace.

And all must love the human form,
In heathen, Turk, or Jew;
Where Mercy, Love, and Pity dwell
There God is dwelling too.
