Book Review: The Lost Hero

Title: The Lost Hero
Author: Rick Riordan
My Rating: 5/5
This is a spin off series of the Percy Jackson and The Olympians series. Read my reviews for those books: The Lightning Thief, The Sea of Monsters, The Titans Curse, The Battle of the Labyrinth, The Last Olympian.

It was so great to see all the old friends/characters again. ;) Minus a few. It was also great to meet the new ones two. I also enjoyed being able to see the old characters through a new set of eyes. I found it interesting, it kind of added depth to it in a way.

As with all of Rick Riordan's books, these were hard to put down. The story was a fun, humorous, and adventurous. It is an easy read that makes for nice light reading break from the more difficult classics. My sisters and I all enjoyed this book so much.

*Spoiler* One thing that really interested me, I am not sure if it was deliberate or not and it probably is. Was the difference of the two camps names. I found them to really be such a great reflections of the difference of culture between Greek and Roman. The Greek camp is called Camp Half Blood a refection of the people being the power in a society. Greece is famous for its democracy. The people where the most powerful in their society. The Roman camp is called Camp Jupiter. The focus of the title is not the people but of the head of the gods, much like the emperor was the head of the Roman empire. The emperor, not the people is the most powerful. It was a great way to show the difference between the Romans and the Greeks. *End Spoiler*

Overall this book is fun and enjoyable. However this series relies heavily on the Percy Jackson Series. I would say that you would not want to read this book without having read those books first.
