Chose Beautiful

image via Pinterest.
"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Once someone complained to me that I said everything was pretty. I really did not know what to make of this comment at first except that maybe I should use the words pretty, lovely, beautiful, and gorgeous less. I tried to do that, but I found out that I do use them a lot. I like to see beauty everywhere. I am the beholder, and to my eye many things are beautiful.

I see many things as pretty that some of the people I know in person don't think are pretty. I have really had a hard time figuring out why. The only conclusion that I could come up with is that I see things that are below the surface, or in what situation a fallen down tree would look beautiful. The tree may not actually be all that pretty, but I see its potential and to me that is beautiful. People in general to me are beautiful.

Beauty I think is something we can choose to see. We can choose to see the beauty of something and focus on that, or we can choose to focus on what is not beautiful. I want to see the best in people, which is something that can be hard, but we have to make the choice to see the best.

  1. I can identify with you! I find fallen trees to be very beautiful, myself. :) I really enjoyed reading this and thought it was very well written. I especially liked this part: "I am the beholder, and to my eye many things are beautiful."
